Start the new year by taking care of your skin

Have you already made good intentions for the new year ? For this 2017, do not forget to list taking care of yourself, starting with the skin. Let's see how to treat the skin with the right treatments and cosmetics.

Treat facial skin: daily cleansing and moisturizing

Facial skin care begins with good morning and evening cleansing . Each skin has its own needs that vary in relation to the characteristics of the skin: to find the best method of cleaning the face it is necessary to experiment with different ones and choose the most suitable based on the reaction of one's skin.

After cleansing the face the skin should not appear dry or red and should not itch or pull: if it happens, it means we are doing something wrong. Facial cleansing products may be too aggressive and cause irritation or excessive dryness. For facial cleansing, let's try using a mild cleansing milk, aromatic water or an intimate cleanser to dilute directly in the palm of the hand. If the skin is healthy and does not present health problems, using mild detergent methods generally tends to normalize over a few weeks: the skin will then appear soft and free from irritation and redness.

Even moisturizing cosmetics, as well as detergents, should be chosen with care: the skin should be hydrated in the morning and in the evening and the product we use should not leave the skin neither greasy nor dry and, over time, should not appear blackheads, pimples or redness. If we buy a new cream and notice that after a few days the appearance of our skin tends to worsen, it is probably not the cream suitable for our type of skin: in this case it is advisable to suspend the application of the cream for a few days, replacing it with of aloe gel, and then opt for a cosmetic more suitable for the type of skin.

Those with oily skin should choose a light, sebum-absorbing cream, while dry and mature skin will find relief by using richer and more nutritious creams; those who have reactive skin, which tends to redden easily, will have to choose a cream suitable for sensitive skin to avoid irritation and redness.

Face masks based on clay or vegetables such as kiwi, tomato and strawberries are particularly appreciated by those with oily or impure skin, while those containing honey, yogurt and vegetable oils are more suitable for sensitive, reactive skin. dried and ripe.

Scrubs and peelings, as well as masks, are treatments that we can also prepare at home and which are useful in renewing the epidermis cells and eliminating roughness of the skin: a delicate scrub with cane sugar and honey or coconut flour and olive oil, made two to four times a month can help to find a soft, smooth and radiant skin.

How to take hard on the skin of the body

The skin of the body is less exposed to external agents and tends to have less problems than the skin on the face and hands. It is however important to take care of the skin of the body through gentle cleansing and adequate daily hydration, to avoid the appearance of excess sebum or excessive dryness. For areas of the body that have excess sebum, such as the back and chest, it is best to apply a light, balancing and sebum-absorbing cream, while for areas of the body that tend to be more dry and rough, such as legs, elbows, knees, hands and feet, it is preferable to opt for richer creams that contain a significant percentage of vegetable oils and fats.

Once a week it can be useful to use exfoliating scrubs to remove dead cells and promote cell turnover to soften the skin, eliminate roughness and avoid the formation of ingrown hairs, especially on areas of the body where waxing is performed.
