How to make a natural and effective deodorant at home

Deodorant is a simple cosmetic that we can prepare at home with just a few natural ingredients: let's see how to make a natural and effective deodorant at home .

Homemade deodorant, how to do it

The deodorant is a simple preparation in which the antibacterial properties of some natural substances are exploited to avoid the formation of unpleasant odors.

Some natural products such as sodium bicarbonate and essential oils have an antibacterial action and prevent the appearance of bad smells.

Also rock alum or potassium alum, an odorless natural mineral, prevents the proliferation of bacteria and also helps regulate perspiration.

In the following recipes you can find rock alum as a basic ingredient for a deodorant action, combined with the essential oils of sage, tea tree and lavender, the most suitable for preparing DIY deodorants.

The distilled water used in the recipes can be replaced in whole or in part by the lavender or sage hydrolat which will make the deodorant even more fragrant and effective .

DIY spray deodorant, the recipe

The spray deodorant is very simple to prepare and can be used after the shower to prevent the formation of bad smells but also inside the shoes to cool them; does not stain clothes and is effective throughout the day.

Ingredients

> 95 ml of distilled water (or 65 mL of water and 20 mL of sage hydrolat)

> 5 g of rock alum powder

> 1 teaspoon of food alcohol

> 10 drops of sage essential oil

> 5 drops of tea tree essential oil

Preparation

Dissolve the alum powder in warm water, mixing well; dilute the essential oils with a teaspoon of food alcohol and add the alcohol to the water. Stir and transfer to a glass or plastic bottle with a spray.

Label the date of preparation and ingredients and keep at room temperature for two months.

Shake well before each use because essential oils and alcohol have little affinity with water, so they will tend to divide from the watery part and rise to the surface.

DIY roll-on deodorant

The roll-on deodorant is easy to prepare and practical to apply; it is used after the shower like a normal deodorant, it lasts all day and does not stain clothes.

Ingredients

> 33 ml of distilled water or lavender hydrolate

> 10 g of aloe vera gel

> 5 g of rock alum powder

> 15 drops of sage essential oil

> 5 drops of lavender essential oil

Preparation

Heat the water slightly; add the alum powder and stir until it is completely melted. Disperse essential oils in the aloe gel then add to the solution of water and alum.

Transfer the deodorant into a container of an old roll-on deodorant taking care to clean and dry the container perfectly.

Label the deodorant, indicating the preparation date and ingredients; stored for two months at room temperature.

Hospital art therapy

Hospital art therapy: when is it born? The art therapy in the hospital develops practically starting from after the second world war.
