Swollen feet in the morning: causes

It happens: some mornings you wake up more swollen than others. Often affected are the limbs, in particular the legs and feet . But why does it happen?

The anatomy of the feet is such as to make them particularly prone to swell . Far from the circulatory pump of the heart, subject to the force of gravity, support of all the weight of the body, it is easy to resent their incessant and important work.

And above all at night they can suffer the consequences of all the stress and hours of immobility, which do not allow the circulation to drain liquids and blood. The causes can be many:

> lymphatic and circulatory insufficiency: when the circulation to the lower limbs is difficult, here is the blood and the liquids stagnate on the periphery, inflating all the legs and feet;

> unbalanced diet : an excess of salt, sugar, yeasts and refined flours, sweets and alcohol, as well as smoke and lack of fiber, can have as a direct consequence a stagnation of liquids;

> gout and imbalances in the kidneys and liver : gout is a direct consequence of an unbalanced lifestyle and diet, to which the kidneys and liver, organs responsible for the disposal of toxins, cannot cope;

> hormonal fluctuations: especially in women the monthly and seasonal hormonal cycle carries water retention with consequent swollen feet.

In the morning all these conditions are emphasized by the prolonged stationary and horizontal station.

Swollen feet: the remedies

Natural remedies can do much to prevent and resolve swelling in the feet that occurs especially in the morning :

> sleep with a pillow in the lower part of the mattress, so as to leave your feet slightly higher than the pelvis; be careful that the support continues even under the knees, and that it does not leave a gap in the popliteal cavity;

> draining herbal teas : centella asiatica, fennel seeds and butcher's broom allow liquids to drain ; however, pay attention to the reaction of the body: if drunk in the evening they can bring those who are already predisposed to awaken during the night to go to the bathroom. In this case avoid them in the hours immediately before sleeping, reserving their consumption before dinner or mid-afternoon;

> cold body bumps in the morning : the body-wounds, performed in a heated environment, allow the whole body to be revitalized, and also the lymphatic and blood vessels to be toned;

> morning massage on the feet with essential oils : a mixture of cypress and fennel oil, added to the base oil, and gently massaged on the feet and ankles upon waking up, up to the thighs and groin, gently and effectively drains the edema in the lower limbs.
