The Californian flowers technique is an ideal continuation of the work conceived by Bach. A field of study, that of flower therapy, which has been widening, to the point of covering disorders that at the time of Edward Bach did not exist or did not have the relevance they have today, in which daily rhythms and unresolved problems lead the person on the path of eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, etc.), sexual blockages, in addition to the factor of pollution that grows around and creates further emotional and physical imbalances.
From Bach to Katz
In 1974 Richard Katz is a young man who can boast an education in mathematics and physics, a degree in psychology at the California State University of Sonoma. In those years he also began to explore the field of meditation and herbal medicine. In a short time he finds himself coordinating a group of technicians and experts working in the flower essences sector. The preparations being studied were composed according to the dictates of Bach, after a careful choice among the local Californian plants.
In this period Katz meets a special woman, Patricia Kaminski, who specializes in gender studies, phytotherapy and flower therapy. In a short time the two fall in love, get married and decide to collaborate professionally: together, in 1979, they founded a real kingdom of Californian flowers, the FES ( Flower Essence Society ) .
The energy footprint of Californian flowers
The decision to channel energies to a Californian flower research center comes to Katz after observing that these flowers lend themselves to solving problems particularly linked to sexuality, interpersonal relationships, careerism, dissatisfaction in the workplace and a whole series of disorders related to metropolitan life. Katz and Kaminski then investigate this peculiar effectiveness and discover that the action of flower essences reflects the characteristics of the environment in which they grow. Then they come to select 103 types of Californian flowers, each specific for certain ailments.
Differences between Bach flowers and Californian flowers
Bach flowers are discovered and prepared in England, in the "old continent", rich in millennia of history, culture and traditions. A very different environment from America and the West Coast, young lands where atmospheres imbued with the famous Californian spirit, inherited from the pioneers, triumph.
These differences are reflected in the therapeutic action of the two different types of flowers. Bach flowers could be compared to a deep, slow sound that acts in the depths of the soul. Californian flowers, on the other hand, are the thrusts that bring up a wave to ride, they have a more immediate action . This does not mean that the action is less deep and therefore superficial, but simply that their mechanism of action is different.
The Californian flowers in fact act on the personality, they are catalysts of inner transformations that from power are transformed into act, to say it with a certain Aristotle.
