The energy of awakening to Unity: meeting with a Diksha giver

The phenomenon of Diksha originated in the late eighties in southern India, when Amma and Bhagavan, two teachers recognized as Avatar, founded their school called Jeevashram, now Oneness University, in South India. Oneness Diksha is a special energy capable of favoring in those who receive it the progressive state of awakening of consciousness from the illusory perception of separation from the Divine, of feeling part of a single organism to which every life form belongs, but without losing the sense of one's identity.

Since 2003 Oneness University has opened the Diksha Giver preparation program for countries around the world. We talk about it with a Diksha Giver, Roberto Valerani, theoretical physicist, mathematician and painter.

- First of all, can you explain to us what Diksha means?

Diksha is an Indian word that simply means "blessing". The Oneness Diksha is in fact a particular blessing constituted by an intelligent energy that acts at the cellular level stimulating and favoring a unitary perception and state of consciousness, I would say of an "illuminatory" type.

We human beings are constantly searching for unity : with ourselves, with others, with nature, with the environment that surrounds us. If this Unity were not realized at least in part, we would be fragments of creation gone mad, both biologically and psychically, and we would be divorced from any relationship with the world.

- How did your journey as Diksha Giver begin?

I learned of the Diksha in 2005 (it seems to me already a century ago) and I immediately had the feeling that it was an extraordinary instrument of growth in harmony with me, with my passions and with my cognitive obsessions. I then read a book that spoke of this phenomenon (then almost exclusively Indian) and from that moment I felt inexorably drawn towards that "thing" in India.

The curious fact is that what attracted me was not only an emotional-intellectual-spiritual stimulus, but also a real physical manifestation: I felt urged by a cordon, coming out of my navel, which pulled gently but firmly towards my goal, Golden City, in southern India, home of Oneness University where courses were held to become Diksha giver.

- Tell us something about your experience in India.

India is not the source of the Diksha, which is a cosmic fact, but it is in India that the two masters Bhagavan and Amma reside, who have discovered the existence of this energy and who have control of the "tap", this being inherent with their earthly mission: the awakening of all the men of the Earth. In about twenty years they have prepared a team of guides (Dhasa) that help them to instill the access codes in those who propose themselves as Diksha givers, who in turn act "retail" on the whole territory of planet Earth. A Diksha giver can mentally connect with them wherever they are and whenever they want: blessings, answers and joy always come.

In 2005, an intensive 21-day course at Oneness University was needed to become Diksha Giver. There were no notions to learn, but you had to go through a process that would change you through a series of experiences, starting from the heart. At that time, anything could happen! And as an inevitable background a bombing of Diksha 24 hours a day. The experiences of Unity were frequent: touching an object or your neighbor had the physical sensation of touching yourself; even time flowed in a strange way and the silence was perceived so often that it could be cut with a knife.

Today, after six years, the presence of the Diksha has become very strong all over the planet and to become Diksha Giver it is not necessary to do any course in India, you can choose a course in your own city.

- Can you describe a Diksha treatment in a nutshell?

The deeksha treatment is very simple: the deeksha giver invokes the deeksha energy on the recipient expressing the intention and laying his hands on his head. This lasts for about one minute. Usually in a session there are several Diksha givers and several recipients at the same time and this strengthens the individual processes.

The Diksha giver possesses nothing of its own to instill in the recipient, what it instead possesses are the deep codes to recall and condense the energy of the Diksha on the situation that requires his intervention. I say "situation" because in reality the deeksha also works on a set of receivers not taken individually, in that case the intention will be directed to the group. It is important that the recipients are available for treatment and that they are in a welcome state and that, once the treatment is over, they are gathered to listen to what is happening inside them.

- What are the most important effects that you have experienced and want to share with us?

Once the Diksha has entered, it gives rise to a multiplicity of effects that depend on the person who has absorbed it, as well as of course by the particular moment it is going through. You can have altered states of consciousness, momentary imbalances, great joy or even unmotivated sadness. The mechanism through which the deeksha acts remains very mysterious, enjoys great autonomy and intrinsic intelligence and once triggered the process is no longer subject to the swing of personalities.

What I see in me is that progressively the states of separation are becoming more subtle, for example it is easier to get in deep contact with people, moreover my different personalities friction less and the perception of a Whole towards which grows love and respect. Sometimes I feel for strangers or for snakes or trees a sense of union and love no less great than what I feel for the people with whom I am usually bound by a love relationship. The distances diminish and I have the feeling that even the bad things, like the various types of suffering, are only the inevitable consequence of an attitude of separation in which I have settled and which usually lasts for years, centuries, millennia.

Here is what the deeksha manages to do: weaken the apparent separation . I believe that with my own personal resources I could not do it! As Diksha Giver I can recall the Diksha on myself, which I do daily and this is of great help to me in relationships and healing.

- What is the first thing you would say to those who want to approach Diksha?

I would say to him: be generous with yourself (a) and one day you will be generosity personified and you will live in the abundance of the Whole.
