The recipe for preparing oat milk
Homemade oat milk can be made from grains or oat flakes.
> 100 g of oat flakes or dehulled oats;
> one liter of water;
> a pinch of salt;
The preparation of oat milk starting from oat flakes is very simple. First, soak the oat flakes in salted water for about two hours, then whisk the oats with an immersion blender . Finally the milk is filtered with a sieve and gauze and poured into a glass bottle to be kept in the refrigerator for no more than four days.
Preparing oat milk using the beans requires an equally simple procedure, but it takes longer.
Rinse the oat grains and soak them overnight. The following day, drain the oats and place it in a large saucepan. Bring the water to the boil with the salt and slowly add it to the oat grains, blending with an immersion blender. Before transferring oat milk into a bottle, bring it to a boil over a low heat, then turn off the heat and let it cool.
Also in this case, oat milk should be kept in the refrigerator for a maximum of four days.
The oat puree, which represents the waste from the preparation of milk, can be used in the preparation of cakes and biscuits.
